We used to run to Arcadia, when we went out of town to shroom. But I was always able to find them in whatever town I happened to be living in at the time
my method is like 30-40 bucks with comparable yield, if not better. And it requires no prep
here’s some more multispore work, on corn. These will go to bulk tubs and fruit just fine. The idea that you can’t fruit a bulk tub from spore is ridiculous, I’ve done it plenty of times.

Uncle Ben’s capri sun method is as easy as it gets IMO
PF tek works, but it’s more work and more steps where things can go wrong. Pre-sterilized media is easiest if you’re either just beginning or only taking a casual approach to it

You’re making a multispore liquid culture? And bitching that I’m just using spores? Everything I’ve seen before, people took a tissue sample from a fruit, put it on agar, then used that to make a culture. Your method might avoid contamination more once you test the culture, but you’re talking about adding lots of time and expense to something that’s otherwise fairly simple.
Do mushrooms only grow from clean cultures in the wild?
