Cheap Homogenizer For Carts

I have a cheap magnetic hot plate mixer not really happy with the quality i get from it. I might be doing something wrong but it never seems to mix 100% not even 90% lol. Was wondering if a homogenizer would fix this problem? you would likely be better off ordering one from CAT. If you rely on your homogenizer i wouldnt trust cheap china shit, and who knows the materials they use on the parts that come in contact with your product

Been looking into this for a while I know if i spend more money I’d get what it’s worth. But I only make 3-5 batches a year to keep myself happy I don’t want to buy some $500+ machine. If the cheap homogenizer off ebay works i wouldn’t mind deep cleaning it.

I have made tons of carts and never had mixing issues using just a magnetic hotplate. If yours having issues getting them to mix with a heated hotplate something is not right.
What are you using to mix your carts?

what kind of oil are you using and what are you mixing it with?

We paid 1100 for ours 2 years ago and we’ve used about 60$ in replacement bushings. It’s been the backbone and core of our business I think. A good homogenizer will make better product, even batches, and give you less headaches in your process. Our rotor stator spins at 35,000rpm. The one you listed only does 18,000. You definitely don’t want the smaller probe.

I use d9 distillate and hemp terpenes using magnetic mixer it goes well most the time but I know it could be better and more consistent. I never know when it’s done mixing so I probably mess up a lot.

I would be using small batches 50-100ml you sure 18,000rpms wouldn’t work?

Thanks for letting me know hope this ups my product quality. If it gets good enough might buy a more expensive homogenizer.

I have been trying to purchase a homogenizer but for some reason every website I go to I cant straight out purchase it I emailed bennett scientific but no reply any help? I need the cat x1000 to get started

You can use a cheapo amazon homogenizer to start. They can do 100ml batches or less. I don’t personally like them but they are better than nothing:

I had a cat homogenizer for a while. I always liked using an US cleaner. It was cheap, I’d just let it warm up put some jars in, stir in the terps, let it sit, then stir it a couple more timess

Is this a good homogenizer? Is 300W with the 70G head complete overkill?

would it be better to go higher RPM with a smaller head?

I will be using it to mix tinctures with Isolate and Distillate
