Hey everyone

I’ve been studying cannabis extractions for over a two years, although I cannot properly conduct my studies since I don’t have acess to good-grade cannabis neither it’s legal where do I live.

I’m here today to share my home setup with you guys and search for opinions towards my current approach.

I use the glass tube.(I know it’s bad, I just can’t afford an closed loop system to create pressure)
Edit; I said I used pvc tubing but it’s an small connector. Many users warned me about that piece. Do not use pvc.

Usually I’ll go for two twisted inside out unbleached coffee filters and pour it directly into an big pirex.

For the next step I adapted one fridge compressor and an pressure cook(with the top part being inverted) to create an portable vacuum chamber to purge the product

Problems that I face:
Loss of pressure on the extraction vessel
No buthane recovery
1 gram of flower goes for 20$ here.
What we have acess to smoke are pressed weed bricks with precary drying stages, precary pest and sometimes pesticide control. Neither it’s cured.
It’s fucking difficult to find an brick that still retains a bit of the original terps and/or is not moldy.

Don’t use PVC, not cool

The glass better or closed column extractor, they’re really really cheap… Not talking about closed loop

Best advice freeze everything, fuel and all

And keep reading, you should really throw away PVC, that’s for water or maybe poop not SOLVENT

Forgot to mention the freezing.
The PVC part does not get prolonged contact to tbe solvent

Do NOT!!! Ever use pvc. If you do, this site is NOT the place to mention it, ever.

If you wanna be elcheapo, use a METAL turkey baster as a tube

That’s the point of the post, corrections and gathering opinions.
As I said, I rarely use the pvc connection. Now I will create something to replace it.

How about ABS plumbing pipe? Its got a “B” rating for butane. Meanwhile pvc has a C- rating

Yeah. The problem is that it costs double the price here. Taxes for imported goods are almost double the price of the product

As the cannabis here is shitty we need to use big boy quantities. I need bigger or faster tools

Now I finally found more about the turkey baster, nice also, I can probably find some around here

Really any stainless steel pipe will work. I’m sure you can source that if you don’t want to go glass.
