Anyone here use a hydraulic press for recovery? I have a nice one that holds approx 2# of material but am wondering if a centerfuge of similar capacity is superior for any reason
Generally the reason pressing is not as good as the centrifuge is when the material is pressed the. Cell walls of the plant are crushed leading to more chlorophyll contamination in your Ethanol. Check out the panda spinner On amazon. It’s a quick solution for you to experience how much more efficient and how much cleaner a centrifuge can act.

imo it does you, and others more good if you go in not expecting one outcome over another. Compare your press to a panda.
And offer an independent data point.

I’ve seen companies use both.
Definitely go with centrifuge. A lot less problems.
