Cedrol

Yes the same lab was used to test the product and chem history gave me an official response (attached below)… but I think I got to the bottom of it and its fairly simple… the flower used in the extract appears to have significant quantities of cedrol… I was looking at the incorrect test batches prior, here is a screenshot of the Ice cream cake-- showing cedrol as a primary terpene in that strain… I’m not sure if this lays the issue to rest fully but it certainly appears that cedrol can exist in significant quantities naturally in flower… One side theory note… this cannabis was produced in living soil no till-- I’m wondering if that could have an impact on higher/different terp ratios…
Chem History Response: Without knowing which samples in particular, there’s a few possibilities that could be going on. Cedrol is the alcohol form of cedrene essentially (though there are 2 isomers of Cedrene). Interestingly, cedrol can contribute to the woody/almost spicy peppery smell of cannabis and there is some data suggesting that cedrol can form slowly over time when in the presence of moisture.

Another possibility is that the extraction (depending on the solvent used) could be more selective with regard to the alcohols and a concentration of those terpenes would be seen.
