Anyone out there have experience with the Capna Ethos-4 Ethanol Extraction System, how’s it working out for you? Would you recommend it to a friend or not? Any info would be appreciated!

I see them for sale used but I ran a search and it came back empty.
Theres alot to be desired from them, alot of the early models are for sale and a bunch of the new ones are also for sale. From what my friends tell me it doesnt do the amount advertised and it tends to still need to be dewaxed and scrubbed. Theres a ethos 4 for 20k on Craigslist around here
Capna has discontinued the Ethos 4 as their ‘entry level’ unit, largely because it is too small to get cost-effective throughput out of. The Ethos 6 is now their smallest machine. If you’re doing craft-level, one-guy-lab and are happy processing 50 lbs a day, it might be a good fit for you, and the prices on used ones aren’t bad at all. Plan to have an extra freezer or two to ‘pre-chill’ your ethanol, or you’re finished when the solvent that you chilled overnight is used up.

You’re all good. I just think a consensus on this website means more than any one person. And I definitely haven’t used one. With my background, I would build it before I bought it. Welcome and just read for days, you will find all the answers.
havent heard much good about the capna but i will say the new American made ACE centrifuges are pretty bad ass and they spin faster than anyone else to my knowledge.

Its an overpriced deep freezer / centrifuge combo. 
You can get a jacketed solvent tank, jacketed centrifuge, industrial ultra low temp chiller, and a buffer tank to hold your ethanol/oil solution until you’re ready for recovery for half what they’re asking. Then with a falling film evaporator you can basically make a large closed loop cryo soxhlet extractor and do continuous feed extraction.
