Sorry if wrong area posted. Can I just get warm and blend together premade Shea butter lotion and cbd isolate + THC distillate ? Got diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis and wanted another workaround. I’d use peppermint oil to pass the skin barrier I just don’t know the average doses and I feel like 25$ A gallon of lotion is better quality than what I can make for the price, also comes out to a lot cheaper than meds through my insurance ! I made a 1400mg thc coconut oil one that worked, just wanted an actual lotion and some cbd effect Thanks a ton !
Is it a water based lotion?
Eat the thc distilate
I’m trying to make a lotion so I don’t overdo anything and I’m not higher than I already normally am haha. Plus a few of my family members need cheaper cbd options since headshops tax the fucj out of cbd stuff.
So kinda a win lose win lol. I lose everyone wins if I don’t have to take meds with side effects I don’t prefer
Ginger Lily Farms Botanicals Soothing Butter Lotion, 100% Vegan, Paraben, Sulfate, Phosphate, Gluten & Cruelty-Free, 1 Gallon, Fragrance-Free, 128 Fl.Oz Amazon.com
I honestly don’t know if it’s water based or not. I just want to avoid using coconut oil since for some reason it doesn’t stay even remotely solid for me just goes liquid
I’ll ask @MillerliteRN . His lotions, and lotion sticks are awesome and worked very well for me. So hopefully he can pop in here and recommend something!
Thank you so much. My grandmother, mother, me, father, and best friend will be greatly appreciative of any help with making a good lotion for us all !
Are you wanting to make a lotion or a salve? You mentioned both. First things first, a lotion is a much harder product to make vs a salve. Lotions have water in them, meaning you will have to use preservatives. Where salves do not require water or preservatives.
To answer your first question, CBD isolate and distillate both love shea butter. Quickly desolves in any butters.
So yes, you can buy a premade salve and easly infuse isolate into it.
Lotions, not as easy. But it can certainly be done with the right lotion.
THCA is better for skin creams than THC.
I linked the one I was planning on using. Just want to be sure to I’m offering them and me the best because I’m going to be using it frequently ! So making my own salve is the way to go? I was just gonna use isolate because one of my family members has CDLs and shit and CANNOT fail a test lol. Didn’t wanna risk full spectrum or some hot D8. Making a salve just seemed a lot more complicated if I could get the same result just infusing. Thanks !!!
That is a lotion you linked to. If I were in your shoes, I’d look at a different product to infuse. Not saying you cant infuse that lotion, I have no idea untill I try. Some are easy and some are impossible. Look at the ingredients list, you see the WATER listed first.
just saying I think ur gonna waste the thc disty…make lotion w cbd stuff eat the thc in capsules for pain and other issues
Just saw u don’t wanna fail drug test then u better sell the thc disty
Ur up shit creek try kratom
I’m not worried about a drug test. Just two of my family members who are
I appreciate the insights, I’ll look into making my own salve if it’s going to work better. I want to be able to actually have thc and cbd in mine, and if just straight lotion warmth infusion Aint gonna do it right then thank you for steering me right !
While I have your ear , do you use menthol peppermint or something or the likes ? I’m trying to dial that in and not be overpowering/irritating to the skin. If In a regular salve it’s unneeded feel free to not respond thank you all
Combine both concentrates in a small glass vessel and microwave them at medium power until they are flowing just a bit thicker than water.
Add 5ml of MCT for every gram of concentrate used and stir like hell to homogenize the mct and concentrates.
Use a whisk from a cake mixer and a power drill to whip the mct mix into the lotion base. More mixing is probably better than less so make sure you keep mixing for a few mins after you think it’s done.
That should work
Edit: the purpose of dissolving the concentrates in mct first is to make it a little easier to disperse the concentrate evenly through out the base. You can adjust this ratio up or down if it effects the final feel of your lotion
I’ll try a small batch of something like this. I just feel like the lotions work better than salves but who am i to know haha. If it’s not recommended to go the route I was thinking I will go a different route, it was just hard finding stuff online specifically with isolate
Yeah give it a go I’ve made tons of lotion like that in the past.
I like these guys for stuff like that
That want work with all premade lotions. Not all will stay homogenized.
Damn, dropping big hints with that one. I would have never of told him that website.
@Enjoy that site is all you need. Now let this thread die a quick death!
