CA Licensing for CBD-infused products

Hello Futures,

I am curious, what is the required permitting/license for creating hemp-derived CBD-infused products such as topicals or capsules for the state of California? I have been googling this but having a hard time finding info on what is required if I am not doing the concentrating or cultivating myself. I am only looking to purchase certified T-free CBD and use it in my products.

Any help is much appreciated and if I have overlooked a thread addressing this I apologize!!

Thank you.

what products do you plan on making?

I am not certain yet, I was mainly thinking that topicals such as lotions could be a good starting point.

Topicals and capsules are very very different regulatory situations in CA. currently is illegal to put into capsules or food but topicals are ok. People do it anyway so it’s a big question, most localities won’t bust but orange county for sure will. Good luck and prob good to consult with a lawyer, the CA CBD product legal situation is a shit show

There’s been noise about the state legislature passing bill to legalize CBD food but hasn’t happened yet Soooo…

Are you dead set on manufacturing yourself? I can white label any cbd product you want for you.

This is what I am concerned about, does adding a bulk-CBD purchased via the web to a lotion or topical count as manufacturing?

well technically… yes… but in regards to the law/rules i dont know. I would recommend talking to your city/county, zoning rules are different for everyone

Pretty sure topicals are a green light but I’m not a lawyer. Def the addition of the CBD to the predict is where the legal issues arise, production of CBD itself is not an issue as far as state regulations, but local government may have ideas of what ok
