Nothing wrong with good canned butane if your distilling it.
That’s how I started with my 1st CL setup.
After seeing what’s in those cans I wish I never open blasted.
Still better than the fools smoking cancer sticks though.

Hi Rahanded,

This looks like the steel remnants from pressing or pickling of the carbon steel. It could have been a brand new tank that had not been cleaned or filled prior and that’s why you’re seeing such a concentration of shavings and oils. This is why it’s important to decontaminate before refilling even when they are brand new tanks. The oils and steel shavings generated during the pressing and pickling of the steel will be left behind if you’re not cleaning before refill.

At least you don’t have to worry about benzene accumulations in this case!
