Butane Extractors! What needs to be automated?

At one point we were playing with the idea of taking an electric snow blower, flipping it upside-down, adding a V feed vat so it can bounce around and not puke it back out and then feeds into the blower auger where you have the bio sock attachment…

Never actually got around to building it. The idea came from our sister lab at the time had this massive bio separator and technically we only needed the one component to make it work. :person_shrugging:

And who could blame them?!

These are pretty sweet, though…

“EXAIR’s Sanitary Flange Line Vac air operated conveyors convey materials through systems that require frequent or mandatory cleaning. The ISO 2852 compatible sanitary flanges limit areas where bacteria can grow and help prevent contamination. Made from type 316 stainless steel to provide maximum hygiene and corrosion resistance, these Line Vacs are available in 1-1/2", 2", 2-1/2" and 3" flange sizes. Flanged Line Vacs convert flanged piping systems into a powerful conveyor for product, parts, scrap, trim and other bulk materials. Their larger size makes them perfect for conveying bigger parts and large volumes of material over long distances. Sanitary Flange Line Vac Conveyors eject a small amount of compressed air to produce a vacuum on one end with high output flows on the other. Response is instantaneous and regulating the compressed air pressure provides infinite control of the conveying rate. Applications include material conveying, part transfer, fiber tensioning, scrap trim removal and filling operations. EXAIR also offers Line Vacs, Threaded Line Vacs, Heavy Duty Line Vacs and Light Duty Line Vacs. All EXAIR Line Vacs are CE compliant, meet OSHA pressure requirements, and are ready to ship from stock.”

We just went the route of eliminating the socks and columns. Just load the hopper and it automatically discharges the post extracted outside into a bin.

As someone who hates filling socks … I love that you have done this but I gotta see it to believe it.

I’ve only had one person from this forum see it run. As soon as I finish this next post process machine I’ll post a video of it running.
