Butane extractor recommendations?

What’s the most configurable starter sized, engineering certified, active recovery, CLS in the ~ <$30k range that has chilled material columns?

I’ve been given an opportunity to join a second organization, a much smaller and less well-funded organization. So, my challenge is to build a fully functional lab, but on a shoestring budget this time. I spec’d ETS’ MEP for my original lab, but don’t have that budget for this one.

Looking at Bhogart, Iluminated, BestValuVac, Extractor Depot, but no one really hits the range of equipment that I was hoping for. But, I mean, I want my middle-class car to perform like a luxury sports sedan too… so I could be foolish.

Dont forget about me

Certainly have not. I’ll let you know when we get to that stage.

Bizzybee is my go too if I was buying a machine

Most of my experience is using Bhogart extractors, so I’m still a fan of them.

I’ve used smaller Bhogart closed loops and I wasn’t super stoked. I have a couple years experience on the Sub Zero Scientific 5lb closed loop systems. The model I’m runnin has mostly since been outdated and “upgraded”, but I feel it was the superior design at the time and still works great today.

As crazy as it seems, Its a crazy deal cheaper to find a machine shop who has a “pressure tank/vessel” certified welder, and have the setup custom built.

They are all similar. Its getting to know your equipment and how to use it is the difference. I have a gen 2 subzero that i get great quality out of it.
You need
Tane bottle
Sleeves
Mole sleeve
Coils
Wax trap
Lines
Filter stacks
Collection pot
Optional dewax column

That always seems like a questionable method, to build your own. From my previous industry experience, government regulators would nitpick and concentrate on any systems that weren’t name brand/ off the shelf, so I might be a bit scared of the concept.

They all use the same general process, so they would seem to need to be very similar.

When you say “sleeves” are you referring to the material column?

Well, like I stated, one would need to find a machine shop with the qualified prereqs. I have machine shop/ cusrom fab/ certification background, which makes this relatable to me.

I would highly recommend nobody grabs a welder, case of beer and attempts to whip up their own machine.

Open source steel if u don’t need a cert and on a budget. ETS or Percision if trying to go certified.

Yes, material column. I have a sec. Gen. Subzero from 2013. Since then, the only things that are the same are the collection pot and tane bottle.
