Butane dewax filter

Anyone have any good recommendations for dewax filter for butane extracts with lots of life to them maybe reusable, or disposable depending or prices? thanks

Dewax column?

Like this?

“filters” should be considered disposable, and requiring frequent change out.

Like this 1micron basket?

Fucking awesome!

Kind of but I’m liking for higher micron and more surface area something like a lenticular maybe but meant for hydrocarbons

a cartridge or cylindrical sintered filter

A dewax material column just gives you the ability to freeze up everything. That coupled w dry ice cold solvent -50 to -70f keeps back most the fats wax and lipids. Or at least that’s what it was designed for anyways

Then there is another kind of dewaxer, a true 2nd stage dewaxer…it usually is wider than the columns,6inch being the smallest is go and holds all the butane for the run just like the collection pot. But this has a jacket whether it be open or not you then stall the solvent after stripping the material, then move to the dewaxer and chill the solvent/oil solution to -70f for about hr some have said 2 but about hr should work…the dewaxer also has a filter plate the same size as the column, wider surface area so you don’t clog it w fats. You load filter papers usually and then push it on to the collection pot , if u have crc go through it before the collection pot. This is usually for big systems that already have trouble keeping everything to temperature bc if you do a fast wash w dry ice cold solvent and material frozen on dry ice before loading into a material column w dry ice then u can usually keep most the fats wax and lipids behind without the need of 2nd stage dewaxer

I usually say If it’s rack mounted or 6" columns or bigger then u need 2nd stage… But now a days I think ,that jacketed columns and tank in slurry and an injection coil will get you plenty cold enough for a super pure extract

@Indofab ulti filters work great for catching fats and lipids and they have a pretty good life if you take care or them
