Exactly, so the refrigerant is mixed into the supply and there is the contamination without liability.
Dont get me wrong, im not defending, my livelihood was effected by this too and we are all fortunate to have this going public but I dont think suing the resellers out of business is the answer. Just increases prices in the end
In ca you legally canât buy butane without a type 7 license. Now plenty of suppliers look the other way. We had to show proof of license and certificate of occupancy to get our gas.
@MWCanna you have batch info from your methanol gas from solvent direct? @BigM_2 would it be possible to see where that batch came from? GI and Diversified told me if I found methanol in one of your tanks it must have been from tanks you filled with Cortland gas. I found this strange as Cortland said none of the gas in your tanks is their gas.
Sounds like diversified is giving you the run around. Odds are the folks youâre all talking with donât know their ass hole from a hole in the ground
I had a conversation with some pretty high ups at diversified and GI. I pulled no punches, asked hard questions and when they tried to dance around them pointed out such. It was likely a very uncomfortable situation for them especially when I brought up the benzene contaminated tank I still have hostage from KushCo that has a big old Gas Innovations sticker on it. They tried telling me only Cortland gas has issues and I told them they are flat wrong and that is laughable. Told them if they want to establish good will we can start at the benzene contaminated gas they had sold me from them through kushco that ruined hundreds of thousands of dollars in product. I can tell you that conversation did not go as planned for them.
Trying to deny the methanol and DEA issue when poor QC on their part and then flat denying years ago cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars?! 
What a surprise they asked to pick the benzene tank I have held hostage for testing Iâll give them a sample so they can realize bad QC has been happening for years. That is benzene ffs something there is no debate about the need for them to test. Something like DEA and methanol could slip by current QC so easily if they let benzene slip by.
Butane, isobutane, and propane are refrigerants. They label them as such so that they donât have to go through the loopholes of labeling them as an extraction solvent. They are non odorized and when I would use them years ago (traditional dealings), the current issues were never a problem.
Yes, I would have to agree, had problems making isolates or diamonds back in the day with clearly dirty gas.
I am also interested to see how we could achieve to truly deodorized gas in the lab as mentioned in @Dukejohnson findings, I bet the extracts would smell better & im almost sure it could carry more desirables in solution.
Uhhhhhh if you think an opened tank in your possession is evidence for a case sorry buddy. Long as it was opened(aka that plastic wrapped around the nozzle is torn off) they can argue you tampered it. YOu know how many beverage providers and other food mfgs have gotten (away?) people are scummy alot of suits are bs. The only time it went thru against a beverage manufactuerer was when a baby rat was found inside the drink and they deemed it to large to have been put in their after canning(they actually did a autopsy on the rat and saw/it was deemed that there would have been cuts and such if it were forced and it was undamaged and nearly twice the width of the drinking whole.

Only way you winning a case is with an unopened new tank. Even than they can argue negligence and blast the company they are reselling for. Big gas/oil dont give a fuck about this tiny market that requires so much work/transportation for such minimal profits. If labs could hold larger volumes they might come into play with large orders and discounts thatll put everyone else out of buisness but its really not worth any of their troubles. Oil giants will fight back and blast tank cleaning procedures im sure.
Reselling gases isnt that illegal/that regulated it has the same loopholes us potheads had at smokeshops before it was legal. Can it be used illegaly yes. Are you advertising that its for pot instead of tobacco yes your gonna have issues but lets be real we know how the game works. Shit i was approved by the department of transportation to transport resell any hazardous materials at age 19, all it took was a 40 hr class that you could set an auto clicker on and skip 35 hours of it . I hear some people do that for osha too
