Getting parts together to weld a solvent tank together. I wanted to go 5mm thick stainless but my only options are 4.75mm thick or 9.5mm for a few hundred dollars extra I can get 9.5mm is there any reason to go that thick. Was thinking of doing 18"x48" 5mm thick.

Also not doing any jackets. Just coil inside.
How large is the tank, and what pressure do you need it rated for? Building a solvent tank can be quite an undertaking.You will need to full understand pressure vessel design, and optimization of said vessel. It is easier to make small tanks than large tanks by the seat of your pants.My advice is get a tank with proper stamps if you plan on going larger than 1/2 lb solvent capacity. What design were you going to use?
