Building small passive set up

Bro… You keep saving me money…i was looking at fucking pumps 10x this cost for the same style setup.

Just picked up 6 pressure washer quick connect :metal:

Do you want a 6” crc? I find a 4”x12(or 24)”works way better than a 6” in my opinion, as there is more contact time

I wasn’t set on 6 inch, I just had few spare caps laying around. I’ll switch that to 4 inch. And hell yea vortal that is the idea. Can anyone post some full bore one inch valves for me, I’m gonna check around in the meantime

3 x 18 molec sieve would be large enough for this or should I go a bit bigger?

3x18 is on the low end, you could go larger and not have to change quite as often. I would avoid the NPT fittings and go compression. I also wouldn’t run a sintered disc on the mol sieve. Material sock and screen gaskets will have less chance of clogging.

Have you used sintered discs on a mol sieve before and got clogs? I just do it for peace of mind but ive never had a clog and i get great flow.

3x18 works great for me and i notice no moisture in my end product. @WhereAreTheStones might have a point tho , i think i sized it a bit on the small side compared to industry standards

Oh, those screens clog

And industry standard is subjective. You could have a small one that you change more regularly, or a larger one that you change less frequent. But @WhereAreTheStones is correct. Use a screen gasket and a sock, or at least a larger mesh than 20 micron on the sintered disc. Least amount of restrictions on the vapor, the better. Also use compression fittings. Reach out to a fellow out there @CorleeValve and he can set you up with compression fittings and valves for a stellar price. Much better than the OSS ones, too.

Fair enough looks like ill have to add a gasket above the the sintered disc. So you guys think the 1 micron is slowing the vapor down? or your saying the beads are restricting it? i still manage 2lb a min.

Thank you for the info brotha💪

That’s not bad at all, but the 1 micron is definitely slowing you down, at least a wee bit. The beads are far less restricting.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it and its not really about how you design you setup but make sure the ROI is reasonable to how much you intend to process remember you can always go bigger

I would have a ROI within two weeks Of proper running(three days a week), just waiting on a investor I know to pull the trigger and get going.

Just give him a handjob. Then you are basically guaranteed he will invest…

Ye ol f4200 special (so they call it)

They’ll actually get below -50 and they have bigger models with more gpm

Air conditioner to cool off the room a absolute no go?

I use this on a dual 6" 20 L extraction system that is passive, chilled with LCO2. They definitely do the job. Extra bump for Dred Pirate recommending these years ago, I’ve never looked back.
