Brass hvac manifold

Is it safe to run these brass gauges with from my injection coil or is it too much pressure for the brass to handle at extreme low temps

Never understood using those stupid ass manifolds. There are cheap manifolds at bvv and glacier tanks

Probably because the pioneers of butane recovery in this industry were companies specializing in hvac systems. Remember when folks were using those shitty appion pumps?

@sierraextracts take the manifold apart and see what the seals are made of. Some of those manifold sets are assembled with seals that aren’t rated for contact with alkanes at all.

Brass has copper and copper can definitely react with alkanes as a bi-product of some of the nasties they carry with.

I never understood those things, its the visual nails on a chalk board for me. Way better and safer to just build your own, also probably faster since thats all1/4”. Brass is a no no with butane anyway

Throw those shits out, start over.

That’s for air conditioners, not extractors.

Yeah, I know blowgart popularized these. Some people also like eating crayons.

Okay damn good thing I asked. This came with my extractor I don’t even need the gauge cluster I was just hoping to use it so I only had to use ice on one coil instead of running 2. Imma just run my 2 coils and call it good. If my temps are all dialed in those pressure don’t really matter correct?

I use one to manage venting/pressurizing my material column with n2. Works pretty well in that application imo

Better than throwing it away I suppose

Not a half bad idea definelty going to be more accurate than my n2 regulator.

Think so? Analog guages are usually pretty dead on accurate, it’s just the size of the bezel and the increments it reads in that’s different between them.

That’s assuming the guages aren’t just Chinese crao meant to look the part.

Honestly don’t even use the gauges, I just like the fact they’re needle valves for when I need to trickle pressure in/out. I use the gauges on my reg/top of column

I’m not suggesting he use the guages. My line of questioning was in regard to his n2 regulator being inaccurate in comparison to the guages.

Can you expand? I set mine to 75… I get 75 PSI.

Same. My regulator does what I tell it too…it’s a good listener.

If you feel like you wanna construct one.

Sorry guys I should have elaborated. My N2 gauge is a Lil old and doesn’t spin as freely as it should I just wanted easier more precise control of my pressure which the manifold would deliver

Groovy octopus did all the work for me so I threw her on order
