Biocontrols

Alkalinity is the resistance to pH adjustment. That’s why RO water isn’t always neutral. It is why RO/DI/tap/rain/“drinking water” are all different choices for your intended application.

Why not? It should be nearly pure.

This is a bit outside of my area of study, but I think the ionic charge has to do with dissolved oxygen or carbon dioxide that isn’t removed by filters.

they call it rhizotonic but it smell more like gizotronic

I had originally talked to @danielfp about this formula and the tomato grower (yes, tomatoes) in coco years ago. He finally got his biostimulants dialed in with China dosimeters.

He is running potassium silicate and trace amounts of kelp at pH 10, mixing chamber, Jack’s 3-2-1, and AGT-50 at pH 2.5 and then another mixing chamber. It comes out at pH 5.5 with RO water. There’s a bit of biofilm buildup from the organic inputs, but he cleans them every couple weeks. Click clack.

Sorry to necro post, but I remembered this thread. I have my biostimulants dialed in right now for a perpetual recipe for veg/flower.

  • 50 ppm monosilicic acid (silica)
  • 750 ppm base nutrient
  • 50 ppm chitosan oligosaccharide (950 mg/5 gallons)
  • 50 ppm phosphite (1ml per gallon)

I have been lazy and feeding everything with this recipe and I can see they’ve grown every time I walk in the room. Mold doesn’t stand a chance between the silica, chitosan, and phosphite. I haven’t adjusted the pH and there’s isn’t a purple stem anywhere. I could dial it in even better if I tried, but this recipe is working great for the entire garden.
