Bifenthrin remediation in butane extraction

It is a research article but you can download it from here https://medcraveonline.com/JNHFE/decontamination-methods-utilising-house-hold-practices-for-removing-pesticides-on-field-bean-for-food-safety.html

By far not the greatest quality publication but still good research IMO and pretty resourceful if you just have lemons and vinegar to work with.

Right on! I love stuff like this! Thanks!

What happened to everyone else’s COAs?

Data pls

Performed on thc or thca
What form too, distillate?

D9 distillate from bho crude
We Saw about 7% conversion from D9 to D8 using distillate, but we haven’t seen more than 1% conversion on distillates made after switching to washing the thca BHO crude first

Interesting. Mine was d9 distillate from EtOH crude.

I guess it comes down to OP trying it if his state allows him to remediate.

I got it out. It was a bitch, I used a lot of water and honestly do t want to do it again. But I got it out👌

Wikipedia says:

So don’t use that stuff if you don’t wanna deal with hard remediation, is what I gathered.

Basically what I would say too. We do remediation for other companies so if they’re willing to pay ima do it but yeah i do not recommend.

I don’t understand how water got bifenthrin out at that high of a ppm. Maybe some chemistry helped it degrade? Do you think it went into the water? Was there anything in the water you’ve identified as particularly helpful for remediating bifenthrin? Thanks for posting

This was an awesome thread to read.

I used an insane amount of water. I do believe it is dissolved in the water. I tried a few things before and distilled the sample a few times with no luck and even slightly concentrated the Bifenthrin during one step. So its definitely not degrading.

How you feel about my water wash remediation now? :smirk: lol

What pH was the water ?

I feel

Me too! It’s theoretically not supposed to work and yet maybe contact with the water somehow ionizes it.

All my data using techniques to remove polar contamination has resulted in more bifenthrin. Water washing, even if it’s a ton, is a nice solution… but why does it work

:point_up::point_up::point_up::point_up::point_up::point_up:

So you dont know about the coxnukle effect?

I just am chalking it up to a SMALL amount of solubility going on possibly aided by ion interactions from the saline?
