Benzene in KUSH SUPPLY / KUSH CO / GREENLANE / GAS INNOVATIONS / DIVERSIFIED

Every time I add solvent it’s distilled, too. I would like to have a secondary still pot for just that

You don’t feel this is worth the cost?
I know you process allot of biomass.

We don’t use the vessel the gas comes in. We distill into a separate machine just set up for distilation. Then the distilled vapor gets condensed into our process tanks which all have 6” openings for cleaning. Our distilation pot is also cleaned after each distil so they’re isn’t a bunch of crap trying to re distil each run

Something else I thought of. Since benzene is heavier than butane I am wondering if it will sit at the bottom of the solvent tank so its staying behind in the original tank and then after you distill you mixing it back in.
Gas Densities (engineeringtoolbox.com)

We distill 1k lbs a butane weekly. We have been doing this longer then most. We run thousands of lbs of biomas monthly. We make 200+ kilos of concentrates monthly. We have made over 5 million grams over the last 4 years.

Thanks for this post. As you can see from my 1st post regarding distillation I said I wasn’t saying I thought you or others were not distilling just that nobody mentioned it.

Vet and pick a distributor that assures that they keep the high purity, BTEX free, hydrocarbon solvents in their original, high purity, BTEX free manufactured form.
Granted, some are shady and unscrupulous, but this forum helps push them out. IMO.

No finger pointing, simply passing along what I’m seeing in the interest of helping to figure this out. Same reason I’ve been giving away free tanks for testing, same reason I’ve offered to test whatever samples I can.

Just had my testing facility come by and grab 3 samples each out of the 4 cylinders I have left of my Cannagas tane. I should know these results end of day Monday and will report back in compassion to the COA that I received

I always thought u needed a special fill nosel to fill these tanks. I didnt even know it was possible

I’ve taken my empty tanks to be refilled for the grill. They have a pump that puts the gas in the tank.

By wet are we talking saturation in solvent?

Nope it’s the collection vial that really matters.
We just open the tank in a safe area got some liquid into it and capped it. They are able to stick a needle through the lid to draw their analysis sample from.

I’ve tested my gas once a long time ago this same way.

For those with this issue were your tanks carbon or steel?
Mine were steel from kush/GI. Carbon from Cannagas

I believe Kush is the only one using SS tanks at the moment (GI has a lock on DOT approved SS supply for LP 239’s). The rest are high carbon steel.

We used to do room temp Distillations of solvent(68-72F) and have definitely seen some nasties pop hot like benzene even at those temps.

That’s no surprise.

I had the ss from Kush before I switch to Cannagas.

They looked nice

Yes, wet being heavy with solvent still
