Baking beads

So I normally bake my beads at 400 for an hour then the pull a vac for an hour in an ai. But it seems like my bvv oven only goes to 215. Is that hot enough if I give it extra time?

Weigh em and see

I bake over night under vacuum. 180-200C

are those ovens using the same units?
400F and 200C are pretty close to the same temp…

Their both f. @Rowan what percent should they lose?

F? What u it of measurement is F?

oh well, it seemed like it was worth a shot…

I’m surprised that BVV has lowered the temp so much.

They apparently noticed we weren’t using our ovens at 400-500C like the physicists do, but failed to catch on as we started finding new uses for them.

200f + vac should certainly get the job done.

As far as weight loss goes, the trick is to sample frequently and find the point where weight loss stops.

Fahrenheit. It was to answer the other person’s questions

What percent or weight should they loose?

they can only lose as much water as they have absorbed…

so unless you get them sopping wet, the amount of water you can remove will change every time.

or start with a known weight, and always aim to return to that starting weight…
