Badder to Cart tech

Ordering now, super excited for this.

Do you have filling instructions for the lock model I couldn’t get the rubber gasket out to pack the rosin in?

The lock is only designed to be filled via heated needle unfortunately. That leaves 50 shots dialed to maximum heat and glass syringe/heatgun combos as the only viable options for filling the lock with concentrates that have not yet been decarbed

The signature is designed to be filled via scoop. I was originally going to supply the seals for the signature separately, but I guess communication broke down. In future runs, we’ll have separate seals as a customization option, but for now, all the sealed cart packs contain sealed carts as well.

Gotta say I rly appreciate your super reasonable sample pricing. I’m just a hobbyist but being able to cop bleeding edge stuff like this is really great. Excellent work, I expect this design to TAKE OVER if it functions as described :grin:

so it sounds like a BHO badder-consistency would be perfect for this, yeah?

@Highfunctioninc.com I got samples of these and tried them last night
I gotta say, I’m certainly intrigued.

First off, the things are massive lol. Which doesn’t bother me, it just looked hilarious on my little stick battery. They’re double walled and I think I see why. All 3 that were filled had some terpage kinda spill into the secondary tank.

I filled it with some BHO badder yesterday and last night it tasted like one of the best carts I’d ever had. Really did taste just like a fire ass dab.
After this morning though, I do feel like it’s starting to lose its flavor a bit, and I’m not even a third of the way through it. I know, all live resin carts kinda lose their bite after using it a while, but idk, this one happened pretty quickly.
Not sure if the plunger kinda squeezes the terps out, like wringing a sponge, so your first few hits are super terpy, then the rest of the badder is more THCa? Or maybe the burning mechanism gets a little harsh quicker with these? Maybe my badder just needs to be better? Lol idk.
@Highfunctioninc.com is this something you guys have noticed or heard feedback on?

I like the fact experimentation is taking place. I will be surprised if the heat required to decarb does not damage the remaining terp containing product. I 100% decarb our vape oil to lower the energy to vaporize the oil. No heat is going to decarb or vaporizing thca.

yeah, definitely possible. It has a porous, flat base inside the bottom of the tank though, no visible bucket or intake holes. I assume this is to kind of provide a buffer / control the feed into the burning mechanism, for the exact issue you’re alluding to.

but I’m telling ya man, the first 10-15 or so hits out of this thing were so fucking good. I know that is a very small amount for a 1g cart, but man it was awesome. I was ready to order 10,000 of these things are roll out a new product line lol. It tasted better than any decarb’ed live resin/rosin vape I’ve ever tried.
If we can figure out how to make these taste great throughout the whole cart and eliminate the need to centrifuge, decarb, remix, that would be so sick. we’d roll these out immediately.

I would assume the base is a porous ceramic wick with heating coil embedded. Sorry to be jaded but I have wanted this tech to work out for 10 years. So far everything I have tried has the aforementioned issue.

Yeah, I can’t confirm/deny. It still tastes good, for sure. I like the hardware. better than pretty much any decarbed live resin vapes ever I’ve made/bought
just lost a little bit of its juice compared to those first few hits. which is pretty normal, ime.

I agree with everything you said. To me it was very harsh as well, too much coughing. These were great and I was ready to order 10,000 too but they just aren’t quite there yet. A few tweaks and this could be the thing.

exactly man. but I think with honest feedback, these guys can get it dialed. for a first iteration (that I know of), it’s pretty dang good in my opinion

I was really excited about the high function, but like others in this thread stated, it clogged with concentrate towards the end. Trying to melt out the concentrate, I pulled a reddit and melted the outer wall. I think if they removed the outer wall and replaced with tubing, this design would be much more useful

I’m early in my testing but the Signature is showing some real promise. 9:1 BHO badder to CBC is feeding wonderfully for me, at about 75% thca pre-cbc. I’m gonna be doing a lot more testing but this is an extremely exciting start  the tapering of the plastic juuuust above the heating element seems an excellent design decision

Yes, depending on the material of course, we have heard some reports on that and are currently making some tweaks to the design to see if we can overcome that. But you’re right, it seems to be the really terpy concentrates that we get reports on that and terps are so thin, like solvent thin, that’s it’s possible the plunger is ringing it out the quartz plate, or that those terps are getting through the seals a bit. TBH, these weren’t really intended for concentrates that are still a bit liquid or in excess of, say, 15% terps. Do you really want to be inhaling that high of a concentration of terps anyway? lol. I’m some would say yes for flavour but I personally have some concerns over that. If you are serious about ordering 10K, we can fine tune with you to your mix until you’re satisfied with the results. Also maybe consider our half gram option which might be more affordable for the customer anyway, if you really want to fill them with something that’s still liquid based. But amazing to hear your appreciating our invention here in its current state anyway. Onwards and upwards with improving them and innovating them with expert feedback like yours and the forum here. Much obliged! Glad you got your samples safely

this thing is feeding!! 90:10 ratio as described in replied comment. This was full to the brim, that headspace and stream of air bubbles are the proof in the pudding (or batter, as it were)

I have a partial decarb running that I will be playing with next. This batch’s viscosity is clearly too high, but the flavor is clean and comes through strongly. Assume with more consistent feeding I will be getting thicker vapor too

I have been reviewing some of the elder lore of this place and did not realize what a thorny and long-term issue the “perfect dispo/cart” is for industry folk. Makes sense! Learned so very much from @JonathanSYG along the wayđŸ«Ą

I will reply here with anything particularly interesting, otherwise I assume this is actually all pretty well-trodden ground and I have very little to add. Still, very fun to play with new technology!

I recently made a blend with just THCA and HTE that is performing well. I couldn’t get straight rosin to work but to be fair mine didn’t meet his stated requirements. Only been puffing for an hour, will report back if device fails.

very good results on my partial decarb so far, also finding that the preheat function is very helpful. moreso than I am used to with vape devices! I think I can do a better job on an “EZ” formulation than melted/partial decarb concentrate + CBC
maybe some CRD CBD would do the trick. although I am always wary of hempyness there. Trying to avoid anything with high effort prep or that sacrifices the concentrate’s original flavor profile, so as not to defeat the purpose of these in the first place. I’ll probably lay low for a min so as not to create spam about the minutia of my dispo statuses but ill def share any more findings if interesting or anyone has questions  as well as just tossing some different consistencies in there like crumbles rosins and sugars, and the slight prep changes that’ll entail!

Once this tech hits icell numbers, I’m going to add a feeding assist. It is super simple and wouldn’t require a spring or a magnet to feed.

The walls are the Achilles heel, much more than crystallization. Just look at how the last .2 in this tank hangs above the coil. It takes a while to drip in because all the thinner material has either vaporized or melted in to the coil, leaving the cakeyest stuff behind.
