Does anyone have a recommendation on rockwool blocks? I have limited height at the moment and want to give rockwool a try. I was thinking 4" blocks with 1 plant per sq ft.
Then I can fit more plants on my veg table vs 2 gallon pots of coco.
Thinking of vegging for 2-3 weeks from rooted clone then flipping.
1-2 week veg max for sea of green. You have to keep in mind they stretch for 2-3 weeks at flip depending on strain.
I normally veg 2 weeks in 4” then set it on a 6 or 8” cube. Seems the 4” dry way too fast during flower. 2 drippers per site. Can pull about 1/4 lb a plant.
I’m running 2 x .3 gpm emitters per plant so my setup should be ok.
My issue is I only have 8 ft ceilings at home and I want to keep using my ceramic hps fixtures since that’s what I’ll be using at my facility, so I need to keep shorter plants.
I was in 3 gallon of pro mix, this run is 2 gallon pots of coco 3/4 full and I was thinking the rockwool would be clean and I could just stack my veg tray with them, or even just veg for 2 weeks in the flower room.
Right now I have a less then ideal setup, I just got a perpetual flower room now and harvest a table every 4-5 weeks. I’m over that but I don’t have enough veg space to veg for both tables , so I was thinking of increasing the plant count so I can reduce the veg.
Check classifieds on water stuff for your large build out. I found a 10,000gpd ro on offerup for $700 that was removed from a water store and a new in box 55w pool uv setup for $80.
You know what, someone told me yesterday his father got a ro system from a water store as well.
He was going to use it for maple syrup.
I’m going to have 2150sq ft of canopy so I shouldn’t need a massive system.
But I’m like you and love a deal.
@emdub27 I seen you said you like to keep run off 3.0 ec and less. I’m feeding them at an input of 1.5 ec and run off today was 2.7-3.0.
With the max ec of 3 does that go with a certain input ec? I’m using athena and they recommended the run off no more then .5ec higher then input.
Here they are tonight. Day 17.
3 ec isn’t set in set in stone. That was that gentleman’s first grow and it’s easier to tell someone new a number than tell them to look for burn.
That being said, I rarely intentionally run facilities hotter than 3.0 runoff. There simply is no reason, as long as you have a good transpiration rate, the plant will be able to uptake what it needs.
Watering amount and frequency will dictate runoff ec in addition to climate. If you water lightly and run aggressive dry backs runoff will be high. If you water until 30% runoff and never dry back, your runoff will probably be very similar to input.
Does anyone run the troll master co2 setup? I have a feeling co2 could be a bottle neck for me right now.
Yes I run all my rooms on Hydro X and Carbon X. What are you trying to do?
I’ve got my irrigation controlled with the aqua x, but I want to add co2 into my flower and veg room.
Get a Hydro X, Co2 sensor, Co2 station and plug the regulator into the station. The head unit comes with a light, heat and humidifier sensor too. I can walk you through this on FaceTime in about 2 minutes. Lmk
I’ve been reading about it tonight, looks like exact same thing as setting up the aqua x, except I’ll plug in the regulator vs the pump.
Thanks bud, if I need help I’ll hit you up.
@0-TILL is right. It’s a freaking breeze. Love my TrolMaster.
Best part unequivocally is the data logger and alarm set up. I get notifications to my cell phone of even the slightest degree outside my set parameters
Love my hydro x and aqua x. Building my next set up for my perso, outfitting with hydro x pro w/PAR metering and lift n grow light handlers.
Beautiful kitchen @Medicine.grower
I got a co2 controller in today and I’m going to set it up and get it going tomorrow.
So I understand you can run more light and higher Temps, but what will I notice with my feed? I would assume if they are running more optimal that they could use a higher ec?
My run off ec seems to always be on the higher side, this might help me out I hope.
Just read your plants. Use your normal ec. If they start asking give them what they want. Usually they just want a bit more macros.
Here’s some lpc 75 at day 7 since flip under the ceramic hps. These lights make the plants transition super fast, the last two runs I’ve been foliar feeding regalia, calcium, power si or kelp and agt50 , I think it’s been working great to keep them happy the first few weeks.
These are being fed Athena pro line at 2.0 ec.
