Assistance in purchasing my Buchner Funnel setup for QWET

Hello I am looking for assistance in purchasing my Buchner Funnel setup for QWET. I plan on making very strong edibles and I want to use ethanol qwet extraction. I have purchased an Ardent FX and a ExtractCraft Source Turbo.

I have been looking at this list of items and I was wondering if anyone can recommend a high quality hand pump that accept 3/8ths tubing?

Everything on that list is available on amazon except the flask , which I have to buy from another distributor the buchner collars which I can just buy another brands version and no hand pump is linked. I just want a reliable one if there is a specific hand pump model to recommend that accepts the 3/8 tubing?

What is QWET?

what is a modern tech?

Pretty much the same panda tech but with a proper centrifuge. Plenty of people still use the panda, @rocksteady makes an adapter you might find useful as well

can you give me a link to this panda tech? i’ve never heard of it and i’m not getting any luck in google swearch results. Has it displaced QWET for ethanol extraction? what is this adapter that @rockstteaady makes? I want to buy all the equipment so I can do ethanol extract and make strong edibles.

it’s the same as QWET, just scaled up. That’s an old term that doesn’t get used much now, ethanol crude is the modern term

On the source extractor, you can use the vacuum pump on the unit to connect to the flask. I purchased the Source Extractor and then the components through amazon like you are intending. I did buy the adapter from soure for $5 but had to add the 3/8" tubing. You could buy this at Home Depot w/ no issue.

I am not sure the Buchner filtration is better than just straining it through a filter. I have only done 1 batch and doing more research on how much can be extracted in this method.

That’s ‘cause you didn’t ask the all knowing one to look HERE.

A hand pump is going to be a bitch, I’d use the vac from the source turbo if you can.

I do NOT recommend that cheap Amazon buchner…. They aren’t flat and the paper will not seal to them well at all, grab a used coorstek off eBay

Like others have said, a hand pump is going to be a real pain. If you don’t feel like pulling a vac with your source turbo, a cheap vac pump of Amazon or eBay would work about a million times better than a hand pump. Heck, you can even get a cheap pump from harbor freight that will do the job pulling on a buchner just fine.

Add a little cake of celite on top of your filter paper to step up your filtration game.
