Thanks for helping out everyone. @DUMPSTERFIREOG is a great guy. Hes fielded many calls from me picking his brain, and has always helped me out when ever I needed anything.
Hes also never asked for anything in return, even when I offered. Repeatedly.
I had a thought about this situation while in bed last night.
Your CLS was obviously stainless steel. I know it will be heart breaking but have you sorted through the " scrap " that’s left over from the disaster?
All your spools, clamps, end plates, coils should still be ok, maybe the frame work ( if not warped ), all of the SS components should be salvageable. Cleaning it all might be a pain but i thought that you could make an ultrasonic cleaner from a metal barrel or tin bath. Also for your vac pumps, i don’t know what you were using at the time but if they are also steel and not Aluminium there is a chance you can salvage them also.
I wish i lived closer and not in Spain so i could physically help you…
Yeah I made a post about this, I actually went yesterday and took my closed loop out of the rubble and stuck it in the back of my SUV, was concerned it was still usable and that crackheads would try to loot it during the night. Going back right now to look for my bellows and stainless cold trap for my spd
Thanks man at this point I’m only needing, gaskets and seals and compound gauges and hoses to get back up and running. The steel appears to be in great condition besides just being dirty. Obviously I’m gonna have to test it but I’ve got some hope that it’s going to run again.
You may want to have a certified fabricator inspect the steel before running or even pressure testing again, just in case. I’m really glad you all are safe and that the community has shown such an amazing and positive response to your tragedy. I would hate to see someone get hurt.
I’m broke AF and don’t have any hardware to contribute, but I’m sending all the good vibes I can muster. Let me know of there’s anyway I can help outside of funding and hardware.
