Apeks 20L CO2 Extraction - problem getting material out of and cleaning separator/cup

Curious why did you all move away from CO2? I have noticed this pattern where some people drop CO2 after a year or so. I personally hate it - good for recovering terpenes but pretty poor for cannabinoids. Ive also noticed that seems like no matter the system there is always residue left behind in those damn separators.

Well there were a couple of reasons really.

  1. The biggest reason is we moved from being a licensed cannabis business over to hemp. CO2 especially that little machine just doesn’t scale well for hemp.

  2. With reason #1 in mind the cost of extraction wasn’t competitive with ethanol for hemp. Capital expenditure and time to extract a given quantity are way too high to be competitive for hemp.

We were able to make pretty good product when we were using it but ultimately it was a business decision to switch to hemp. Ironically though, the reasons that we left the licensed cannabis industry (oversupply) are now plaguing the hemp industry too.

I have these machine.
1 turn the chiller up and let it sit 20
Minutes
2 after taking all big stuff, take apart top of separator and wash down with warm alcohol.
That’s it done in 5 minutes even with 900 gram loads
