The frost is from warmer ambient air. Or the unit doesn’t have enough btu’s. Or the refrigerant isn’t compatible with low temperatures. In order to get lower temperatures your evaporator needs a metering device that sprays the right amount of refrigerant. And your superheat has to be adjusted to compensate for the return of vapor to the compressor.
