Anyone have experience using Duratherm XLT-2 as chiller fluid for cls?

I have a -80C chiller (https://intecusa.com/shop/ols/products/60l-80c-ultra-low-recirculating-hermetic-chiller) for my cls and am trying to avoid the use of ethanol as the chiller fluid. Thanks!

Duratherm fg is food grade. Duratherm s is also good

Oh yeah you’re talking chiller, we used duratherm fg and s in our rotovap baths. Not sure for chilling

A little late to the game here but Duratherm XLT-2 was developed for the chiller side of things. It’s on par with low vis silicones for performance down to ~-60C at a much lower cost.

You do definitely need to check on your seals though. It’s a hydrocarbon and some chillers used EPDM seals which are not compatible.

Reach out if we can help -
