Anyone got tips for starting?

I’m looking for any advice or tips I can get in general. I just filled out the paperwork for a llc.

Short term goal start a hemp farm and lab.
Longer goal state rec farm if one comes my way.

Starting Greenhouses / grow space sizes?
How’s the market been?

Thanks in advance!

This is all assuming you’re wanting to be in the cannabinoid market. If you’re trying to do industrial hemp or something then please disregard.

My biggest tip is: Start working on an outlet for your product yesterday. The hemp biomass market is a mess right now because of overproduction of low quality biomass that noone can sell.

Don’t be one of those people or you’re gonna have a bad time mmmkay?

I wouldn’t want to deal with hemp, ever.

Don’t buy any equipment new at this point. Message me and I will get you brand new or used manufacturing equipment at a discount.

Tour other farms, processing, or extraction labs as you get the opportunities. Read here about those who have struggled as well.

Just look at the hemp world right now. I’m good on that…

Over saturated market, scams left and right (making hemp and people involved look extra bad), dramdramadrama, d8, you ending up with your entire harvest wasting away in super sacks In a warehouse, the list goes on.

May have sounded good a few years ago. But not currently. Just my opinion.

I’m doing exactly what preaching/recommending to you…

Mind if I ask what state you are in? (Don’t have to answer)

Welcome, fellow Washingtonian…

Fuck our dear states current rec systems license caps, barrier of entry and lack of vertical integration.

Tell me about it. I’m only going Hemp so I can try to get the funding to buy a License from someone and to learn on the way.

Dont fully knock it. being transparent and charging decent prices for 8ths pre-rolls having decent strategy and marketing properly has worked for me fuck growing however. but processing/white label has worked for me. 2020 i founded my company solo pet project as stay at home dad, i did 78k in sales 2020 and this year were at 27k with about 20k profit and we just cut costs on 2 of our products. if you can talk to people and have a personality its not easy but beats my old job in the wine industry, i dont hate waking up anymore and making money for others. but yeah its constantly changing.

I have a friend that will be dealing with most of the growing I will asst.
I will be learning the processing side of it. (Tips here would be nice too)

Search bar is your friend. Tons of good info!

And good luck if you actually go through with it!

Very good tip. Where should I start?

Anyone know which area of the forum is best for looking for futures contract?

Dude, there isn’t much hemp in WA for a reason. Finishing regular weed outdoors here properly is nearly impossible. You’re going to have a field of mold in central Washington.

Please do not do anything farming related…

I’m sure most chemists on this site would tell you a lab is a waste of time…

So all you have left is a brand that you could start buying products from private label companies that they couldn’t sell themselves

Central Washington has by far the best season/climate for growing in the state imo

Low humidity, minimum rain and an extra couple weeks without snow (compared to my area)

I lived in Yakima when I was younger, I wish I could be doing outdoor there, could run a lot more strains with less worry of them not finishing lol

But yeah, I wouldn’t grow hemp lol

Are you trying to help him, or secure a sale?
