Can confirm, if you quote the entire post, the text goes away.
Also note if you reply to someone and you are the next reply, the reply to circle icon doesnt show up. Also because its redundant.

@sidco is there a way to still be notified? I get its redundant, but its helpful to know if someone answers a question or weighs in on a discussion vs. random person on another tangent. I suppose the alternative would be use the @ symbol
If someone @you, you get a notification, if you participate in the thread it should go from “Normal” to “Tracking” and it will pop up at the top of your feed if there is a reply. You’ll see a reply count next to the thread of unread replies.
You could go a step further and change this option to “Watching” for notifications.

I think what you’re asking is can you ‘watch’ a post for replies, and I think the answer is no, just threads and of course people who reply to you.
