I have 14 grams of distillate (91 percent thc)
I am looking to make atleast 14 carts (1Ml carts)
Are my steps right?
Put jar with oil on stove top on low heat till oil is runny
Add 2 grams of terpenes
Stir with a fork for 10 min as fast as I can
Heat up the oil a little bit more aftwe all the stirring
Load oil into stringes and transfer into carts.
That’s it also should I be using this thing called Vicosity booster for my oil?
Use the search feature above. There’s a wealth of knowledge. (btw not trying to be a dick, but there’s so much info on carting. It’s worth your time)
- 15% terp level seems high.
- Also using a stove top can be bad. Don’t let the oil get over 85-90C.
- Search for how folks hear with a microwave
- once you start learning, buy the right tools

You will want to dilute (viscosity booster) if your using cheap carts.
Go on ebay, buy a cheap magnetic stirrer hot plate. You’ll thank yourself the first time you use it. Forget the stove and a fork. The magnetic stir bar will handle the mixing, and the hot plate will probably be more adjustable, heat output wise, than your stove…and thet are less than $50.

Why would I want higher viscosity with cheap carts?

Most carts I’ve tested aren’t able to burn pure distillate without some kind of thinner. Just too thick

thinning is decreasing the viscosity, not boosting it.
honey is viscous
water is not
In other fields, a viscosity enhancer is used to increase the viscosity, but this is cannabis, so I would not be at all surprised to find folks marketing “thinners” as “viscosity enhancers”.
and sure enough…
a low viscosity diluent for boosting your viscosity?!? SHM

You can slap some pretty thin stuff in carts and it’ll be pretty solid…how thin would it have to be to need a thickening agent…

It’s all about the intake aperatures size. CBD carts typically have 1.2mm aperatures because the distillate is runnier to begin with and you have to cut it below 60% so the CBD doesn’t crash out and THC carts have 2mm holes for uptake of the thicker oil. At a 12.5% terp cut your disty will be pretty runny and you could probably get away with the smaller aperatures.

Correct, it was early in the am before my brain was fully functioning. He seems very new and when I read viscosity I immediately thought of true Terps viscosity and figured that’s what he meant.
