Am I getting a good deal or getting duped?

I bought 20 lbs of regular good looking cannabis for $200 per. When my people smoke it they get high. It looks like really good greenhouse. I just had a guy come at me and ask how am I getting it so cheap to be able to sell at $250 per lb. I let him see pics and videos, showed him the bags and he smelt the lbs and all. Then he said its not real cannabis… that my stuff “has got to be cbd flower that has been infused with d9”. It looks like regular cannabis. Many crystals on it too.

Just wanting to get your thoughts on this. He was wanting to sell me his “true cali cannabis” for $375 a lb I think he’s just salty I’m getting a better price than him.

For 50 bucks you can send something to an analytical lab and find out for sure then tell him to eat shit in black and white

Or add a zero to those prices and get real Cali weed.

So you think I’m getting what he said. The infused cbd flower?

I think you are in the wrong business but I don’t shame you for trying.

Wrong business? I’m sorry I don’t follow. I’ve been doing good on sales, but he’s the first person to come at me like this.

You’re going to be getting bro science and he said she said answers until you send it to a lab.

If its a cryro infusion on extracted flower, what exactly will he be finding other than thca and terps?

And aside from CBD, trace solvents

Last years deps…

It wouldn’t hurt to extract a small amount to determine if it crystallizes and to measure how much precipitates out of solution. If the numbers don’t jive, you know something is up and further testing is needed.

You get what you pay for…

200 a lb or outdoor isnt unheard of. Every one values their product differently. I had someone I was buying lbs for 100 each. This was in southern oregon. Product wasn’t bad I was flipping it for 8-12 a lb. There are so many people out west growing thinking it’s an easy way to come up not realizing so many other people are doing the same thing which allows for you to find hidden gems on the low

Maybe back in 2019 or 2014. 2500-2000 a pound is unheard of for something that looks like decent deps let alone indoor in CA in 2026. You can find decent deps for $250-$450 today in CA, sub par deps could easily go for 200-250 even less.

That would make OP actually in the wrong business if he added a zero to what he paid. There is nothing smart about taxing yourself in a oversaturated market where the prices are tanked. There is nothing smart or cool about spreading a false narrative that you have to pay 2000-2500 for good weed in 2026.

Even the flashiest of mylar bags and custom labels and packaging and nose in the air Instagram posts about high prices being a symbol of quality can’t justify someone paying $2k in California. This is not an era where caliplug can tell people they need to pay 2400-3200 to find quality and be believed by anyone on that kind of falsehood.

Maybe he did get some CBD or cryo infused stuff. But it doesn’t require paying $1800-$2300 more to not get scammed and find something real for $250 - $500.

Good for anyone who still has customers getting their arms twisted for those prices buying it from people producing in CA but if you’re going to add a zero to that price you could find quality for that price on the East Coast/midwest without having to source from across the country.

This could very well just be another broker using a negativity bias to make OP feel like an idiot for finding a better deal.

I’m not arguing what you said but if your selling top quality indoor that will pass all test $2000 should be bottom line especially if your paying tax and packaging. I don’t know how the Industry fucked itself so bad. Price of everything else went up and weed went down?

Go out west and everyone is allowed to grow it now add all the other legal states. There is so much product not enough customers

Glad the black market doesn’t got to deal with all that.

I can’t remember the last time I seen a $2000 lb. I’m happy there is options for cheap medicine.

It took people with functional business acumen. The buyers really got pissed off about covid. Growers and brokers saying “buyers don’t set prices!” So then buyers built their own supply chain. Now the buyers set the prices, and if everyone else doesn’t like it they leave the game.

The difficulty of cannabis was the logistics. When you get pulled over by a state trooper with half a ton of cannabis and they fuck off before even scanning the chain of custody its over. When you are allowed to ship semi trucks loaded with “THCA flower” on the manifest for half a decade before the government reacts, its over. When people hold out till they are forced to run for distillate, its over.

There will never be a serious drought ever again. There are literal tons of cannabis sitting in inert gas waiting for it.

You can use a light microscope for analysis (40x magnification) if plant has been imoregnated, some signs often appear…1. a layer looks like varnish, making the surface appear smooth. 2. air bubbles may be trapped within layer 3. the trichomes are not recognizable due to a covering film…try to remove a very very fine piece of the plant as sample…you can use your phone to seine light from the side if it is too dark.

I tried during my time in Aruba and Curaçao sometimes. Love the places
