“To defat the methanol residue, it is rubbed four times with 250 parts by volume of petroleum ether and three times with 100 parts by volume of chloroform containing of ethanol. .The undissolved residue of approx. 10 parts by weight is dissolved in 10 parts by volume of water and the solution is mixed gradually with 100 parts by volume of absolute ethanol. The amount of active substance in the solution is thereby increased. This operation is repeated two or three times. The solutions are decanted OE and evaporated to dryness under reduced pressur”

are the percentage gains using solvents besides water really worth it, or is it purely a preference of purity? Is high purity leading to less nausea? throwing your fresh mushies in the freezer will rupture the cells improving saturation and theoretically giving you better yields, not unlike ultrasound extraction… How about using a soxhlet extractor? ultrasound extraction for “full spectrum” tincture? Are there any concerns of your tincture stratifying and leading to unpredictable dosage? and if so than would a “shake well” label be proficient mitigation or straight up unnecessary? would a glycerin tincture have advantages over ethanol or vice-versa? these aren’t A/B questions, maybe just food for thought

Hi, what think about the adition of metabisulfite to the water in the A/B tek for scavenger the o2 ? adding ascorbic acid to protect if heated water is the choice for reduce the volume of the solutotion. I know that boiling water have practical non oxigen disolve but maybe help too

Dirty tartrate… made Directly after evap the organic layer, soo no rex no nothing. All open aire with out inert gases
I was testing diferent parameters of PH and time of extraction.was 60g fresh and 3g dry of mushs. I did not expect nothing for soo many test but…all for the science something left.

Todd’s Tips:
Handling crystalline psychoactives are not for the faint of heart. Transfers and measurements are planned out before hand and there isn’t much room for “I’ll try this much”.
Treat it the same as covid: Be aware that you shouldn’t taste or smell items, don’t let it be exposed to your skin, and always wear full eye coverage.
You will need to upgrade your scale to .001 if you haven’t already.
There’s a Grateful Dead documentary where a guy licks his finger after an extraction. Don’t do that. Be safe and keep taking it furthur!

Very beautiful extraction! Did it start initially an aqueous extraction with vinegar? I have had great success in using a little vinegar in water to extract N,N-dmt from root bark.

Yes initially soak and mix in pure vinager with tartaric acid, ph 3.5 aprox. The vinegar here come with metabisulfite for preserv.

I use only white distilled vinegar for extracting dmt
do the goo through soxhlet and rotovap tho if you’re after extracts for edibles. proof 170-200 ethanol gives you varying consistencies after complete evap based on proof. The goo is residual sugars and actives. it melts nicely into chocolate. probably more stable since it’s locked in a crystal structure with sugar too

well is it instant tripping my friend w no body load?
the goo is slow like eating dry fruit bodies. however if you leave ethanol in the product the come up is pretty instant with no load. maybe like a psychedelic liqueur can be added to chocolate instead but I haven’t tried. which is ironic bc we’re basically back to crystals of the gods tek. however what precipitates out of that is not active. you might want to soxhlet then partially vap then filter, but something similar already has been discussed here. with that 2 day process for rex in ethanol.
editing to change: effects from goo can be felt pretty instantly but it’s a slow climb to peak. it’s odd.
the presumed Psilocin-citrate salt pictured above is fast and no load.
wonder if you can force a psilocin-cannabinoid salt…
