You guys win. EtOH is the way to go, I see the light..kind of. Now what?

I am sure he is knocking over furniture rushing to the keyboard to seek more of your “help”.

:joy::joy::joy::joy: sure thing

Not interested in going tit for tat. Stated my thoughts welcome or not, and then offered any assistance since I’ve just recently been through all of this.

I mean this in no offensive way whatsoever. But I’m one of those people that’s baffled by the people that take a great big old passive-aggressive shit all over someone brand new here then guilelessly expect them to ask you for help.

Again, I mean no disrespect…

And you have the right to your thoughts

I don’t EXPECT anything from anyone. I could not give 2 shits if anyone asks me for help lol. I said my thoughts, which were deemed unproductive, so I followed it up with a genuine offer for any assistance. My thoughts on business practices, vs my ability to provide good knowledge to someone just getting into etho is irrelevant  I’ve already disregarded my original statement, with an offer of help, and a statement that I will be more productive in my responses. And here we are. Four posts later  anything else

And to say I “took a shit all over” someone is a little dramatic. Just pointing out a fundamental flaw that may help someone not bankrupt a business.

With that being said, I personally will remove myself from this conversation. Any replies towards me or my thoughts will just further cloud up this post for no reason.

To the original poster, If you ever have a quick question or problem on the fly, Feel free to message me. I’m no pro, but with help, have become fairly fluent in the startup etho game.

Good day y’all

@AP326 I can vouch for @Eastcoaststrange’s understanding of the process & his understanding of the spoon return.

He’s learned a lot here and he’s willing to share because thats how we as a group make progress.

@SIMSAM point taken. We could be a lot more welcoming if we tried.

My excuse is I learned my netiqette in the scarydevilmonastary.

I never once discounted @Eastcoaststrange or anyone here’s knowledge. The reason I’m here in this forum is to get help from people that know what the hell is going on. I know for a fact 99.9% of the people here know more than I do.

I meant no disrespect at all. It’s just the way that a lot of people pounce on newcomers is incredible. I understand you guys don’t want to “spoon feed” and I don’t want to be spoon fed. I made naive post a few weeks ago when I first found Future4200 and since then as I said, I’ve been reading non-stop. There’s just some specific information I can’t find via the search bar, so the next logical approach was to make a thread…

Luckily, there were some people who reached out to help. I’m thankful for them.

Trust me, I know I’m a total noob here. That’s precisely why I’m here.

I will totally keep that in mind and hit you up @Eastcoaststrange . Thanks, man. Sorry we got off on the wrong foot.

All good. I was a dick and should refrain from irrelevant social commentary. Rock on my dude :slightly_smiling_face::slightly_smiling_face:

The extraction companies should be able to help you out with equipment sizing and capacity . Call up your local dispensaries and local brands and see if they need product ! It’s not hard just go for it and learn along the way . Main thing like any business is finding the right workers . Find the right lab manager and have him help you out with buildout as well . You’ll be fine . There’s no secret . Start with a 120L centrifuge with -80c chiller for extraction , a 50L rotovap kit , a couple hot plates , a crc kit , a 10L short path distillation kit and scale up from there . That’s well under 100k! Good luck

Let’s go future4200! We gets this paper ! A little info only gonna open up opportunities for more members on here ! This guy needs a lab manager! Partner up !

I love you you all.

Thanks so much for that!

You’re definitely right. Would be much easier to find someone, work with them and eventually employ. <3

Pretty sure he was being helpful. Basic entrepreneurship teaches you to know your market and to do extensive market research before you go full bore into a venture. You’ve shown to know nothing about either and he was showing his concern. Seems like a pretty legit concern to me and one that should not be taken offensively. The fact that you took offense is slightly concerning, I doubt Mark Cuban would be amused if you pulled this on Shark Tank.

I’m not trying to talk smack. I envy you and love what you want to do and hope for nothing but the best for you. But it’s always worthwhile to make sure you consider everything, and dismissing people immediately because of very minor feedback is usually a red flag.

Edit:
Clearly I didn’t finish reading the rest of the thread before replying. Not trying to add more wood to the fire.

The Delta CUP 15 IS awesome. It will pay for itself in short order IF you keep it running. Solvent recovery is the key to profitability. The more ethanol you recover, the lower your production cost. We have 4 sprayvap columns. We’ve been doing this for 3 years. I understand Pinnacle is awesome with FF.
Distillation equipment will drive many factors, not the least of which is labor costs. We have multiple VTAs. They are very expensive BUT worthwhile IF you keep them running.

Kudos for doing your homework with an open mind.

I really like Delta’s FFE design. The centrifuges on the other hand are a more generic product.

It has been said by many and i think the times make it nessesary
There is more profit in consumer end products than there is in bulk production
So then the question is is marketing and sales more up your alley or not

Welcome to the ethanol game.

My advice for you when you start is don’t assume you can get the throughputs that the delta website suggests. At 15lbs/run, you’ll need to extract almost 3x per hour to meet those demands in 8 hours.

Also figure out whether you’re extracting warm and remediating, or keeping extraction temperatures cold.

Good luck!
