will UV light kill mold in Distillate

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I had always thought that the tests for mold were looking for the “dead spores” (really technical I know). So where UV might kill them, I think the tests would still show positive because the dead spores are still there.

I bet they are doing colony counting.

Dead spores dont show up, micro test basically consist of inoculating agar with your material, incubating them and if there is growth doing a quick count to get your final results. Pasteurization is the easiest way i know of to kill all growth. just let the material to reach 135F for 30 minutes and youre good to go.

Its distillate

It’s been well heated during the making of it.

Good to go!

Find out what mycotoxin(s) you’re dealing with etc
Some aren’t soluable with non-polars. Pentane would be a good choice, hexane was .02

Look up decomposition and what it decomps into.
Might be pretty easy.

Anyone worked extensively with mold contamination— actual mycotoxins not just mold? Mold won’t pass .2um but the mycotoxins do! And that’s what Ian actually harmful

Looks to me like LLE with non-polar and disti as your raffinate and high ph water wash to remove aflatoxin (mycotoxin) as your extracted throw away. Won’t need a lot of water either - do a few washes And test
