Why crystallize

I am trying to convert CBD to THC using citric acid.
Why does the resulting oil crystallize over time?
Is there a high concentration of CBD that has not been fully converted?
Residual citric acid/baking soda?

My process.
Put CBD : dH2O : citric acid in the ratio of 1g : 2g : 0.15g in a flask and reflux at 120°C for 12 hours.

Then add 1.31 g of baking soda to 1g of citric acid to neutralize it. (At this point, bring the solution back to room temperature.)

Add 2 - 3 times the amount of NPS(I use hexane) to dH2O, separate the aqueous layer and discard. (I do this in sep funnel)

Wash the NPS once with an equal volume of dH2O. (20 ml dH2O to 20 ml hexane)

Remove NPS (hexane) by vacuum distillation.

Here’s your mistake. Do a bit of reading and choose another route to get there.

Please give me a hint.

I am from Asia and my English is not very good.

Seems like you have found a nice way to wash CBD and recrystallize…???

Smoke it, you will know your answer in 30 seconds.

Asia, just say.
But in my country samurai and ninja are there.

Ya I wouldnt risk trying to grow THC there either… How difficult was it for you to obtain CBD?

I could make “something” to crystallize.
In my country, it is not easy to inspect it.

CBD is very easy to get.
My country has a very active CBD industry.

Is it primarily domestically produced or imported?

Imported.

Do you have access to lab equipment such as rotary evaporator , reactor , wiped film or shortpath ? Or is this happening in your kitchen…

I have all the equipment. But it’s small size.

Read the isomerization treads

I understand. I’ll study.
