Most people fill carts or syringes with distillate and those are also measured by volume, even though they all say a weight on the package. I definitely get where you’re coming from, it’s not like you buy a liter of diamonds or isolate, because density, but most people who use distillate at scale are using volumetric measurement to fill their cartridges and aren’t doing it by weight.

It is also unlikely that folks are using 1L containers with accurate and fine graduations. Much room for error.

The people I know use bomex 1l media jars which I trust to be accurate enough to do business. I agree with both of you but at the same time if you bought a kilo of disty and expected to fill a thousand 1ml carts you may be disappointed, or you may be really stoked. But if you buy a liter you can reasonably expect to fill 1000 1ml carts regardless of density. That’s my understanding of why it’s done that way with distillate.

That may be true, but I dont buy bulk compounds with an intended number of products to produce. I buy a given mass of compound. I give the seller x dollars and he sells me x grams/kg. Doesn’t matter if its cannabinoids or fungi. To me, it’s one of the most accurate and guaranteed ways of certifying I got what I paid for.
Edit: not to mention theres always loss to the container so no one should expect 1000 1mL cartridges from 1L

Yea i have used that approximation myself when formulating oil-terp blends but eventually decided to stick with grams to grams. Also started preparing hplc samples gravimetrically

All I can tell you is what I know my friends! I’m on the same page as you. I’m sure if you ask someone for a kilogram of distillate they’d be more than happy to weigh one out for you though. 
For lab purposes 100% mass is a better measure than volume almost every single time.

First off my post was a joke… Second you need to be verified as a slanger to try and sell your distillate. Third, my post is from 2019, if you are looking to push your oil i would recommend making a new thread and getting verified first.
Finally no i’m not looking for any distillate since that is what I produce.

Thc free is loose form in this industry. For us 0.08% or less. This is also the number that has been accepted by publicly traded companies that we have distributed to.
