W1 CRC flow rate

Hey @Waxplug1 or @Soxhlet

Let’s say ever time I’ve had cart return bc no fire or something I dissolve it out into everclear
Could I cook off the ever clear then dissolve the disty into nonpolar solvent send push it through my crc to make light yellow again instead rose red?

yep,
dissolve in a non polar and perform a pressure filtration, you could try it in a buchner funnel, but you may end up accidentally end up boiling your solvent.

You could always re run the disty in your cls?

That’s what I was thinking doing

After I save up about half L rerunning in cls crc to clean the disty back up

Anytime I have no fire or cart brought back bc immediately being broke I’m nice guy and take it back… Only to resell it to them later as dark carts so if I can take the dark out I could not lose any money on the brought back full carts

Lately I’ve been having channeling issues for some reason. Didn’t change anything but it’s been looking like this. So I started adding a small layer of AA ontop and it’s been working perfect since.

Add a fast or medium flow filter, a filter plate, and a ring on top. It should help spread out the solution across the top of the surface and help prevent channeling.

u tried throttling back on ur flow.

and do you fill the column first w fuel completely…once you think it’s full, crack the valve and get some liquid flowing through. close the valve back off wait 5min or so for everything to settle back down
…once ur ready crack the valve under the crc to barely let the fuel through. I keep my psi up to like 80 psi after I get to flowing good

What size should I get for a 6" plate

You have to buy it by the yard, and then cut into strips/discs to use in your column
Edit: They sell 5 micron, and 1 micron

You will cut the sheet into strips, the width of the strip will be the depth of your rolled filter. Take the strips, and roll them into a cylinder, making sure to roll tightly as you want some compression to take place. Once rolled to the appropriate diameter, slip into the spool, and the compression of the felt will release, giving a good fit to the side of the spool.

This is a 4" after a dozen runs…pic for visual reference

awesome thanks for the info. do i still need to use the paper filter stack or should i just replace them with the tampon(s)?

and is that pic the start pf the crc? these tampons jist catch fats right?

Yeah, that picture is at the bottom, like where a sintered disk usually goes. I still use papers to keep powders off the depth filter as I get multiple runs out of them. If the get contaminated with powders is when I replace them.

its time u get welded filter

i have a1um(just in case) and 5um. a depth filter above that then 2-3 filter plates w drop in plates for each to make each filter plate a 2x filter olate and put staged 2-4um(2 papers) top plate 20um 2 papers. it always goes past the 20um plate but the next plate usually stops whats left
the depth filter is a just in case so i never see. powders on my disk(they are for peace of mind though

Try media bros crx. At 30psi it dups like a hose. I recently bought a bucket of w1 after being a media bro for over 6 months and absolutely hate it.

Its so hard to try and go slow thru the media bros stuff, i run all propane so it’s even harder. Have to throttle all valves and cant get close to 2-3 psi like recommended, but it does a good job. Still wanna try the w1 just cause, i just go through so much media it would add alot to already high daily burn rate.

you hate it just because flow rate is slower with w1? How does the media bros compare as far as leaving terps? How much crx is comparable to w1 per lb etc?
