I agree sawed off shotgun laws are stupid. What can someone do with a sawed off shotgun that a regular pistol or shotgun doesnt do? He was selling illegal guns that were stolen to felons or kids- thats really bad.

A friend’s dad was in the early part of Vietnam. The jungle made their rifles rust and jam to the point of being worthless. Guys were writing home, “dear mom and dad, the army sent me to war with a gun that won’t fire. Please mail me my .357 magnum revolver and the family hunting shotgun.” As soon as the shotgun arrived, the barrel would get sawed off. So to answer your question, defending against near ambushes by the viet cong in dense jungle terrain, that’s what a sawed off shotgun is good for.

I didnt say its bad. im saying its a stupid law, unmodified short shotguns are legal if it doesnt have a stock. Any gun shoots bullets, dumb to regulate barrel length, its illegal to have a shoulder stock on a pistol or a short ar 15 too? How dare people want to aim?
