Traditional market busts/news

https://www.cannabisbusinesstimes.com/us-states/wyoming/news/15771895/trumps-doj-tells-federal-prosecutors-to-enforce-simple-cannabis-possession-crimes

“Marijuana possession remains a federal crime in the United States, irrespective of varying state laws,” Smith said in a press release. “The detrimental effects of drugs on our society are undeniable, and I am committed to using every prosecutorial tool available to hold offenders accountable.”

I’m convinced that these morons in the gov have no clue what drugs are and moreover they dont understand there are levels to “drugs”

love how they lump cannabis in with meth, crack, fent, while ignoring things like sugar, alcohol, caffeine, and lets be real…social media.

The deck of cards on the table implies that these cops have a lot of spare time.

Not good imo

Do you know which was the original source, who owns the publishing company and who do they get funding from would be my questions.

tldr:
The article focuses on years 16yr-24yr old girl who is an alcoholic and went to rehab for alcohol after her mom died (she also smokes weed).

The 2nd paragraph is comparing pot usage to drinking stats from 2022 saying pot is up booze is down.

An addiction physciatrist at Stanford is saying psychological addiction to marijuana is the same as physical dependence addiction. (I guess) stressing that people “can get addicted to weed”
Florida Atlantic University also mentioned.(rehab research?)

My opinion: although there is much easier access to cannabis today, I also think an increase in usage may correlate to people being more willing to answer honestly rather than lie about pot consumption in today’s age.

It seems like the nature of any industry is to find a scapegoat to blame for lack of success. The article, like the data, seems to be a waste of time and money.

sounds to me like people who have additive personalities can get addicted to anything… including weed.

They should talk about coffee, tea, sugar (drinks, candy, donuts, cakes, etc)

I would argue those are far more addictive and do more damage.

It’s all publishers out of Virginia oddly enough. Every single one of those web journals is a Virginia based outlet.

It’s been recreationally and medically legal there since 20’-21’. But recreational sales has been vetoed by the previous governor every year. This year they will be opening rec sales including preferential approval to communities negatively impacted by the war on drugs, equity stuff etc etc. Previously the policy left the state to be overrun by tobacco stores selling unregulated THCa instead of having more regulated dispensaries open up. The state has been capped to 4-5 licensed med dispensaries spread across the state while barring any rec stores leaving these habibi owned unregulated hemp shops at most shopping centers.

Weird that all those copycat articles went up while the licensed rec market will finally have its greatest shot at opening this coming year.
