They are giving the dog Fredo too much credit. There was no way multiple suitcases full of vacuum sealed bags of weed would get past the scanners.

Dude, not even counting ports and boats, or canadian borders, something like 30,000 trucks cross the US/Mexico border every day. In order to speed up the process companies can get whitelisted, and then their trucks get a fucking speed pass like it’s six flags. That’s where the vast majority of the drugs make it through.

You’ve heard about cartels taking over avocado markets? They use legal companies that have extensive networks of legal products.
It would take tens of thousands of individuals to carry as much as a single truck. And there’s twenty trucks crossing the southern border every minute of every day.

That’s why if anyone ever tells you illegal immigrants are carrying drugs over the border you should kick them in the dick. It’s the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard.

For what it’s worth, the biden administration wanted more x-ray scanners at the borders for trucks, and republicans blocked the funding to install them, until that fact was reported to the public.

I think it’s more common in pedestrian land borders, it’s not necessarily negligible but I agree it’s a different scale entirely
