No no crashing no color not viscus at all
I haven t send any thing to the lab yet
But perfect scent and good yield

How bout the butane fraction, immediate crashing? Any terp smell?

But runs where warm so fats and waxes still there

Hot propane will blow your lab up . Assuming that your machine is rated for propane , once heated , it’s a whole other beast . The pressure would climb rapidly and blow your safety release valve .

It s very hard for me to obtain pure propane i have to buy 400gr bottels
From the hvac supply store to get it
And one needs a licence over here
Ethane is much easier

If I were gonna do this, I dont have a cold trap but I would use a collection pot that has liquid drain valve. Start with at least 5 lbs butane in the collection pot, chill to dry ice temp and recover your hot vapor through the liquid valve. Since the vapor has to pass thru the dry ice chilled solvent it will condense itself pretty fast.

I think i am lost on this project we are aiming for
In my case i have let the propane blow off outside and didn t recover by dooing so the solution froze it self deu to vaporation
I guess that if one where to recover it cold say -30C one would save most terps yet the propane would still evaporate as long as no vac was pulled at the end with the recovery unit used
A coldtrap would make sense indeed i guess i get your vapor recovery path Now

Next week we’re bringing out our old small CLS to attempt a butane vapor run. I’ll post the results when we’re done.
I was thinking of passing the terpene enriched butane vapor through a coil submerged in just ice to condense the terpenes but not the butane…the coil would be mounted up and it would have a sort of “y” port so that the vapor goes in and as it makes it’s way up in the coil and towards the recovery tank in dry ice, the terpenes will condense out and run down into a cold collection vessel hooked up on the other side of the “y” port. What do you guys think?

I think your going to condense some butane also.
I used to recover using just a constant flow of tap water on my coil.
Unless the solvent isnt going in the coil and im just not getting it
Ok i still think that my method is easyiest
Place collection pot in dry ice
Connect vapor port of solventtank warm to biomass filled blast tube and transfer all solvent treu the biomass to the collection pot
Place collection pot in ice water at around 4C and recover gas
Terps should be in the collection pot
Some will have gone but you will have an idea of if it works
