I’m separating a few dozen compounds in spirit distillation
some of the “tails” have pretty tight BP fractions and I can still separate them out individually.
You’re probably right, but I’m gonna give it a whirl ![]()

it will work.
to what extent is the question and how much column do you need.
then what losses do you get due to thermal.
also you can also isomerize with heat ![]()
they must be reacting it to 0.3%.
what is D8 worth at 0.3% D9 anyway.
if its expensive enough then cpc is the go but if not then the numbers tell the truth and its
in the reaction.
the compound is like realy tacky isont it.
like its melting point is a lot higher than delta 9 ![]()
so it may be solubility and crystaliztion that will do the trick if not reaction.
Yah I wanted to run it with a diffusion on the end to keep my boiling points down. I’m theorizing there’s a sweet spot in there without much in the way of thermal degredation.
Even if I lose 3% of my yield by take my 88% d9 to 96% d9, my market values that product enough that it’s worthwhile.
So it’s a balancing act.
@tweedledew
But what if the whole column/still was also a thin film and also featured dephlegmation and also equipped with shelves for fractionation?
Hmm ![]()
fucking big column thats a very very big investment but yes I can see that working.
They can be as small as fitting inside the palm of ones hand
I have much to learn about separation thats for sure.
you think it will get d8 down to 0.3% d9.
I shall read more on this I am used to the old school fractionating column distillation setups.
another interesting use for them
I’ve seen some extremely fine, and slow, separation of cannabinoids via BR spinning band
any of you guys see this…
https://labsociety.com/lab-equipment/t-sep-separation-process/
Its only a cool $500k. comes with training…LOL If you can remove from crude…why not D8
anyone got info on what principal this T-sep system uses to remove the THC? I havent had a chance to talk to a rep.
I just emailed an inquiry. We’ll see if there’s a max THC level or if it’s specific enough to help with D8/D9 separation.
jesus how slow were they running the thing
currently exploring d8/d9 sep via flash, also have a B/R
SpdramaQueen seething about IP theft, threatening lawsuits And PIs in 3… 2… 1…
just so I have the scale right.
the wheels/casters on the rig there like the size of truck wheels ye.
otherwise I can not see the justification of charging so much money.
They wrote “The T-SEP Model 7LPH configuration includes 3x 100L vessels”.
Might actually be a desktop machine, with vessels made a new secret “100L grade material”… ![]()
