WOW
These are my favorite jars to use for heat curing. The increased surface area allows for quicker heating times, resulting in less terpene degradation. Went for a wet sugar consistency with this rosin.
@SubstituteCreature any experience with these?
No but I will as soon as I find these fuckers, appreciate the hot tip @botanichemist !!!
For sure! They’re aren’t rated as freezer-safe because of the beveled mouth. But they stack well in addition to heating quick!
Squishing this 90u Gary Payton
This is how a regular mason jar looks after enough of any mind altering substance. I was not sure if this was real or if I should just chill out for a moment. I guess I will continue on my journey, Just looking at this jar is making me trip out.
Wouldn’t mind having some of the original material… in photos, of course.
Lol
Still yet to try a decent rosin cart, but those look phenomenal. Beautiful work.
Give it 2 more days and I could change that easily.
MY TEMPLE BALL MELTED, I WANT TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER.
It looks like it! Just remember, always ease into it. Let the heat turn the hash/flower/whatever into a jelly first and then gentle, ramping pressure to ease it out of the bag
Hmmm, I’ll bet that will work a lot better than my smash and wait technique
Yep! That’s how I started doing it though, so no worries! Let me give you a quick rundown of how I do it.
0-pressure, just essentially enough pressure to hear the hydraulic struggle for a split second then I ease up on it, check the bag depth between the plates, parchment, etc. and use that 15-30 or so seconds as sort of a staging time.
After that I slowly put maybe like…10-20lbs on the plates? So small that you can barely see the needle jump on the pressure gauge. If your stuff that’s in there is any good then you should be starting to see the goo just baaaaaaaaaaarely peeking out of the plates - at that point I use an hourglass to let me know 1:30-2:00 so I don’t torch what I’ve got running then give it a bit more of a squish by an additional 10-15-20lbs. If you’re running high quality stuff you really won’t need more than that at alllllllllllllllllllllllllll.
Keep an eye on the flow of what’s coming out between the plates and add bits of pressure as needed, I seem to top out on 500-1k psi barely when running badass stuff that mainly drains out on the first press and prefer to run at 180-190f.
Also, I can’t believe I haven’t said this before but never plan to press rosin like a pro - plan to press like a retarded monkey with an eye injury and missing digits. Take every single safeguard possible! Cover every surface within arm’s reach with parchment and wear nonstick gloves. I have a story about why I swear by them that I probably won’t tell in public. Someone get me high enough in OK and you’ll probably hear it.
Thank you sir! I’ve been working at 170* and just kind of experimenting.
So far a 2 minute tumble has been the best press for color, but the stuff from the 73 bag on the bubble seemed to have the best yield, but was a little darker.
Smashing freshly dried purple punch flower produced a purple rosin. Smashing fresh flower made a mess, but was still pretty cool to watch the purple juice squirt everywhere.
Next I want to see if my tumbler will run fresh frozen inside the -80 freezer.
The purple rosin is so cool to pull for the first time!! I remember getting that and it was on!! That train was loaded with coal and was tearing ass down the tracks! Hopefully you got a better outcome than I did, the dabs were very loaded with waxes and lipids so no matter what temp. they came out hella charcoal black on the banger, but still! SCIENCE!!!

I will be bringing cannagars loaded with hash and already cured btw so hope you got some lungs on ya
Some of that temple ball will probably be a large part of em`
