Reflux under pressure

Simply @Dr_Jebril? Have you noticed the price on amber glass flasks sir? Especially at scale. Super cost prohibitive imo but maybe not for your situation.

What pressures are you typically using @Roguelab ?

On normal solvent/ catalyst reactions 15 psi if the intention is to run the reaction at atmospheric boiling point of solvent
When the intention is to run a solvent at a bp that’s way higher than it s atmospheric bp then I adjust pressure needed
Butane at 45 C around 75 psi
Pentane at 90 C. 150 psi
Methanol at 90 C 90 psi
I have adjustable prv s in these ranges that are lined to outside for yust in case

Did you know the boiling point is directly related to pressure by way of vapour pressure? the more you know

Yes I do it s my intention to suppres the boiling point so there is no need for a condensor
And no need for a constant Argon backfill
And the option of getting rxn gooing in solvents where atmospheric bp is to low
Phosforic acid on methanol or acetone

you ran phosphoric acid in acetone?

Where have u been!?

away, not doing obviously dumb stuff like our master chemist challenger @Roguelab

acetone + acid…every chemistry novice knows this is a dumb, dumb, dumb idea. did i say dumb

What it do?

Who did your custom fabrication?

Please elaborate as to why, cause a lot of people are using this combo to make D8 and selling it

@MagisterChemist just posted it

Makes bad things.

Probably need chromatography + distillation to separate.

If not you’re likely poisoning people.
