One of the sight-glasses on the solvent tank on the Precision PX1 I have has developed a leak and needs to be replaced, but i am unsure of what size the fitting is for replacement. Any help on the correct size or where to purchase it?
Hi,
Which sight glass? Can you take a pic?
I might have a few of those in stock. Let me go confirm the size fits the threaded port on the px1
Are you sure it doesn’t need to just be tightened? Got any pics?
On my old PX1, the sight glasses leaked. The seal around them is what was leaking.
Because they needed tightened?
Here’s how I solved my PX1 leaky sight glasses (they leaked when it came in the door…always pressure test before loading solvent…).

This is what I was thinking, unless the glass is damaged or the sealing surfaces? Pics are 1k words!
This would be a viable canadate for the px1, 2205 series.
This is where Id put my money… if I were a betting man…
If it’s a recent one, then yeah absolutely.
Mine was a 2015, the 2017 still had the DIN wrench style…maybe @precisionnick can address when they changed them?
(Did you call the OEM?!?)
Tightened them super tight. Pressure tested for two days straight. With foam, I found it was the seal on the sight glasses.
I don’t like the threaded sight glasses. I prefer sanitary.
Broke my strap wrench putting on my sights, doesn’t leak though!
I just used a flat head and a hammer, fuck it.
they didn’t machine such a fine striking point for any other reason after all…
Lol!
When you don’t have the right tool, you find a way.
I’m not even going to pretend this isn’t how I tighten every union I have that leaks lol. At least 300 series stainless isn’t brittle
Yes, that is the same sight-glass; it looks like Soxhlet’s link might work?
It seems to be the seal around the glass/in between the metal, not a leak around the threads; the pressure leak fluctuates audibly when i press on the glass itself.
Love metaglas… did you finish that sight glass you were making?
