This seems to separate the pigments very well
What happens if I put an extract of some purple weed with anthocyanin in it? Can I get some blue shit I can thrown in a jar with pentane and thca?

not likely as anthocyanin is super polar and will not dissolve well in pentane. at least to my knowledge!

Freeze wet weed and let it thaw
The colors in chromatography are not exactly reflecting how they appear in their isolated form. If you do chromatography on any oil with its tail fractions still intact, like crude, you get a ton of purple and red layers. Looks like they are running crappy distillate in that column judging by the color fractions. Also, the column looks a bit short for what they are trying to do. The bands/fractions are not fully separated from each other.

Ahhh… it’s not even distillate and that’s an automated flash chromatography system LOL
