PID controller help

shouldent be an issue, do you know the watts/ amps?

Uhhhhhh lemme check.

Edit: SSR says output is 12V

yeah wire the dc side of the relay to the back of the pid, you will need to connect pin 6 to pin 4 on the ssr
pin 8 goes to pin 3 on the ssr

Do I need to use a screwdriver to open up the ports on the PID to connect?

yes and no, unscrew the terminal screw and slide the wire underneath, then tighten the screw to bind the wire in place.

ok so back screws 9 and 10 off and get yourself a power cord with the ends of the wire stripped.
we can do this step by step

Any power cord? Edit: im writing a diagram in my journal one second. Need to have this written down to come back to it so I can make more.

yeah, as long as it fits your 110v plug and it isn’t hella sketchy (eg damaged or underrated for 110v)

Oh ok I can probably look for one if not find one I can buy one. And ok just wanted to make sure I didn’t need to buy a separate plug.

nah, if your better half doesn’t notice you may be able to ā€œgetā€ (steal) one off an appliance lol!

I probably have a power cord in my garage from an old lamp. Let me double check everything I have written down

Old extension cords or cords from dead tools/ battery chargers work as well

Ey again I appreciate the help on this. Youtube has good videos but didn’t explain if I needed extra wire or what else I needed, and I’ve never worked on electrical anything before until now really and now I know how to get started. Thank you again for the help, I’ll get back here when I find my cord and anything else I need.

Had to scrounge around, do some thinking and smoke but im getting there.

if you still need help, ive used this cheap pid many times…

110- ISOLATOR - PID - SSR - LOAD

your pid uses low current to switch the ssr’s higher current terminals.
should be wired up somewhat like
your pid to ssr output (low voltage side of ssr)
you’ll have 110 from your active/hot wire to the pid and the ssr. (high voltage side of ssr)
neutral to your pid and load.
from your ssr to your load (high voltage side of ssr)

dont kill yourself, dont touch anything live. i usually play with 240v and my toilet water just goes straight down, there is no spin.

and as i scroll down thru the thread… please shorten the amount of bare wire you have where you connect any wires and make terminations…i wanna see it exactly how they did it to the thermocouple minus the connectors if you dont have them.

how about that 12V load?

so where is the 12V load powered?
