The companies provided all this info on their own dime. I saw it first hand and it was a shit show perpetuated by a sales pitch that didn’t come to fruition.

I have 3 strains with powdery mildew resistance where it can’t be touched. If I sent those 3 plants to phylos and they knew it had powdery mildew resistance, it will help them pin point the genes that trigger pm resistance . Enough data and it’s trivial to find genes, which with enough money is trivial to edit those genes with crispr. Leading to patents from our “crown jewels”

Genomic data, with accurate descriptions of traits of the cuts, pm resistance, auto flower genes, fast finishing, purple , if you have enough numbers is all you need

Right, with enough data. But they were sequencing 2000 SNPs which is definitely not enough data. But more importantly “and they knew” accurately is the key thing here which is just not good enough for science. From a population genetics perspective, 3 plants aren’t enough to determine which gene is which. In population genetics, you need thousands with a specifically defined trait. But for mapping, you need the actual plants. From what see out there, they didn’t get the actual plants from their customers.
If you don’t understand genomics, how can you know anything about what they supposedly used? Why would they build their own plant facility if they could get everything they needed from submitted samples?? Your theory just doesn’t make any sense - it might if you don’t actually know the numbers required for SNPs, samples, and bioinformatics work. Not trying to be rude, but this is such a hoax perpetrated by the fearful or their competition
Let’s start with the subject in question is there any doubt that they had enough auto flower samples in their data base to start from to help them in their quest for a patent? How do u think they acquired the data to do this, did they leverage the galaxies data to accomplish this goal?

Also how hard would it be to get actual plants after the fact . 10k plus cuts are back doored and stolen all the time , why would cuts no one cares about me hard to acquire?

I did a search and found one plant labeled autoflower - but surely there are more. How many can you find?

I can tell u how to probably find more. Google large auto flower breeders. Eventually u will find ones profile on phylos, and u will find a shit ton I’m sure they have done on their page. Figured out that technique when looking up cookie strains. My carpel tunnel is rocking on the phone. Trying to stay passive today lol

I couldn’t find any and I looked a long time on their site (not today) - Mephisto, Humboldt Seeds, Fastbuds, etc. But I guess you could have some breeder who decided to make an autoflower variety and call it OG Kush or Sour Diesel. Really tells you names are mostly meaningless and for marketing. Even if there were 25 of them that wouldn’t be enough. Oh, haha, and the one that is listed is Beldia (Ketama) which is a Moroccan variety that isn’t actually autoflower. It’s an early flower, but definitely not auto. My friend grew some from Kalifa last summer and he took cuts - can’t do that with autos.

Aomeonw should edit the cannabis gene to be able to grow quicker but maintain all aspects of the plant. Not just gaining speed and calling it a day. Also I wonder if someone will look into GMOing nutrients for speed growth with full cnanabinoid and terpene profile retention.
