Outdoor grows 2020

If possible direct sowing is best. In the greenhouse we direct sow 2 seeds into a 1 gallon and 3 seeds to a 3 gallon. For field production we use the water wheel to direct sow with one rider putting germination mix into the hole and the other rider plants the seed. Then we go back over the rows and hand water for 3 days.

Go 1:3 black gold to ffof, it won’t be to hot so the clones will love it & it’ll have enough nutes to break down through flower for that auto run. Maybe a little extra N&P that’s it.

But use caps vermiculite tray tek will rooting you’ll see them down in 4-5 days instead of 10-14

And no (ignore jug of biocanna), not using bio canna on the regular lol (would be so fucking expensive for how much these things eat), just wanted to use up some left over nutrients I had from an indoor run awhile ago.

I’m so jealous!

I just add 15% more perlite to my FFOF bags for clones vs uppotting established plants. Seems to work for me.

I tried black gold mix a few years back. It turned to a muddy soupy mess.

The black gold has a lower ph than ffof so it’ll creat a less hot soil for the plants, but still have enough feed to blast into deep veg. But yeah a lot of people I’ve seen use straight ffof have had tons of burning issues or the seedling just dies off from basically over feeding/eating itself, not due to your giving it forced nutes

Ffof is NOT for seedlings. Light warrior is.

If someone wants to stick with fox farms, happy frog is great for seedlings. Check rural kings/ tractor supply for fox farms soil. I’ve been able to consistently get 2 cubic foot bags from rural king for $14… and if they are torn (which a lot are) they sell them for $2. Last summer I got 4 2 cubic foot bags for $8… can’t beat that price.

Supposedly there was a fire at the factory that produces fox farm soils and coco. Its pretty scarce in my area as of a few weeks ago.

At the hydro store I used to run, we called that “hillbilly super soil”. HAHAHA.

Small bag, big bag? I thought they only had 1.5cu’ bags. It’s all I’ve ever seen at grow stores.

I don’t measure them by cubic ft lol, I’ll get the sizes though but yeah here we have the standard size bag then a bag that’s 2-3 x the size

They have 3 cf bags of roots. If you buy a pallet of 72 bags can get em really cheap.

If you are buying anything on a larger scale, check with your local greenhouse wholesale supplier. I use hummert international near st louis. I think mcconkey is one of the larger suppliers out west. I can get virtually free shipping on large orders if I wait for hummerts truck delivery that comes by twice a month. Idk if mcconkey offers that deal but shipping media is a lot of the cost, so any break there helps.

I’ve outgrown the hydro store on several levels. Hummert and BFG are great.
