Then please share your findings
353% is a big number. I like that number
So your pants got 353% tighter?
It seems it would depend on the room temperature. Maybe if it was around 40C here…
No that’s the evaporation temp
That’s the temp of the hot side of your FF
You need a LOT of cooling power to maintain that level of evap at those temps
For the practical applications, 40c is not the temp I would run, that’s just the highest mark on the chart
It’s not like you can just slap a bunch of transducers on a FF and get good results
The system needs a lot of engineering to properly and efficiently
I meant in my pants
Joking aside, my boss bought a bucket full of ultrasonic transducers the other day but I imagine the power supply/frequency generator is the expensive and important (and also missing) component
It’s like serendipity or ESPN or something … DM me
So just screaming at my evaporator in the right manner makes it work faster?
Well fuck!!
I guess it works with wooks…
Yes, shake the damn thing with sound
This one goes to 11…
I’ve tried writing a strongly worded letter to my evaporator and it just didn’t have the same effect
Try sending that letter at 28kHz…maybe as an F#
Really brings new meaning to “screaming solvent recovery”…
This is exactly the thing I was hoping to sit down and read. I just queried @rowan as to the nature of making a massive ultrasonic generator from scratch and well, it seems like it’s doable in a Sudanese college at least (disclaimer, haven’t read the whole thing yet)
And the boss dragged home a bucket of transducers? So jealous…
The conversation went something like:
Bossman: “ultrasonic humidifiers are really expensive, I’m going to buy some off alibaba”
“Do you realize these are JUST buckets of water and ultrasonic transducers???”
“Do you REALIZE how cheap ultrasonic transducers are from China???”
Me: “I think you need a power supply or something”
Bossman: “they run off 12v”
Me: “I think it’s slightly more involved that that”
Bossman: “I already ordered 400”
Edit: and now, for $300 worth of junk from China, I will become an expert on electrical engineering for ultrasonic cells lol. This. This is how it happens
I’ve heard folks throwing ultrasonics at all sorts of random shit, this however makes sense.
Good luck.
Please report back.
If I ever get a whisper out of one of these things I surely will
Send. Me. Some. Transducers.
I will make use of them and share all data
